The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it will work with residents of Ogun State to ensure the successful conduct of credible and all inclusive 2023 general elections in the state. 

In the bid to make the election participatory by capturing all eligible voters, the Commission has also announced measures to take the registration process to the door steps of residents. 

INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr Niyi Ijalaye, made this known in Abeokuta, when the Management Team of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, led by the General Manager, Mr Akinyinka Akintola paid him a courtesy visit.

Mr Ijalaye who stated that over 650 thousand permanent voter’s cards were yet to be collected by people of the state appealed to the residents to visit designated locations across the 20 local government areas of the state for collection. 

The Resident Electoral Commissioner who acknowledged the existing relationship between Radio Nigeria and the INEC said the timely dissemination of the programmes and activities of commission to the people had greatly enhanced voter education and mobilization. 

Earlier, The General Manager of Paramount FM, Mr Akintola had emphasized the need for all hands to be on deck to bridge the information gap between the electoral body and the people ahead of the 2023 general elections. 

Mr Akinyinka who promised that Radio Nigeria would provide the needed opportunities for all participants in the elections to make their voices heard noted that the successful conduct of the elections would ensure good governance and better life for the people.
