Oyo state government has hinted of plans to draw up a comprehensive work plan across three thematic areas that would improve the state indices on human capital development 

The Executive Assistant to the Governor and Focal Person, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe disclosed this shortly after a technical workshop with senior career officers in the state service and consultant for the southwest zone on human capital development

The executive assistant enlisted health and nutrition, education, and employment generation among other focuses of the team, noting that as soon as a work plan had been generated, interventions would be rolled out leveraging on National Human Capital Development (NHDC) partners to improve the general wellbeing of the people in Oyo state 

He also indicated the challenge of funds and how the technical team intended to establish a budget that would aid its administration and ability to fulfill its mandate 

In a remark, consultant in charge of South West, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju explained that the National Human Capital Development (NHCD) was launched in 2018 by the National Economic Council as a result of the observed decline in human capital development rating in Nigeria.

Dr Adeyanju added that Oyo state would experience a better intervention as a result of the initiative 

The zonal consultant also stressed that the program aimed at addressing poverty and sustainable policy, increasing investment and improving human capital development indices across and conceive steps in accelerating human capital development
