Osun electorate has been cautioned against vote trading and violence before, during, and after next Saturday’s election.

The Chief Imam of Osogbo and Grand Imam of Osun State, Alhaji Musa Animashaun stated this in his sermon at Osogbo Central Eid Ground where he led thousands of Muslim faithful in 2 Rakats prayers.

Alhaji Animashaun called on INEC, police and politicians to conduct themselves in a way that will lead to credible elections and sustenance of peace being enjoyed in Osun State.

The cleric admonished all to be guided by the fear of God, saying everyone should remember death and judgment.

In his words, Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola urged residents of the state to be peaceful before during, and after the election.

He, however, called on security operatives to live up to expectations so as to ensure peace during the election.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that those present at the  Eid Prayer ground included the wife of the Governor, Kafayat Oyetola, Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Aliu, Chief Tunde Badmus and top Government functionaries.
