Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has concluded arrangements to establish a Quick Response Squad in Ogun State towards responding to emergency security cases across the state.
The New State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Niyi Ajibola who made this known at Oke Mosan Abeokuta, when he paid a courtesy visit to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, said his mission in the state was to ensure adequate security.
While condemning the upsurge of cult activities in Ogun state, Mr Ajibola said that the Counter-Terrorists Unit of the Corps would assist the state in tackling the menace.
The new commandant also pledged that the Corps would scale up its operations ahead of the 2023 general election to guarantee the safety of lives and property before, during and after the election.
Responding, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun called on all security agencies to adopt new techniques in tackling insecurity in the country.
He said it was imperative for security agencies to fashion out an all-encompassing and efficient method that would address insecurity, adding that the relative peace in the state was as a result of synergy among various security agencies.
