Members of the Arewa Community in Oyo State have lauded the Governor Seyi Makinde-led government for running masses-friendly policies and accommodating members of the Arewa community in its programmes.
The commendation was made during a solidarity visit paid to the Governor’s office in Agodi, Ibadan.
The Arewa Community was led by Alhaji Hammed Muritala and Alhaji Danlandi Jagaban and was received by the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
Addressing the group, Chief Lawal, described Governor Seyi Makinde as a detribalized leader who accommodates various ethnic groups in his policies and programmes.
The Acting Governor pledged that the present administration in the state would continue to prioritise the welfare of the people in the state.
In a remark, the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Arewa matters, Alhaji Hammed Muritala, commended the magnanimity of Governor Makinde for giving a voice to the Arewa in his administration.
Other leaders of the community who also spoke showered encomium on the governor for his good governance style.
They equally appealed to the state government to give more employment opportunities to their people.
In attendance were the leaders of Arewa Communities across the state.
