A seven-storey building still under construction has caved in, killing at least two persons in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The building, which collapsed on Sunday morning, is situated at Oba Idowu Oniru Street, near Sandfield Bus Stop, Lekki.

The cause of the collapse is still unknown, emergency workers and security operatives have already moved to the site to possibly rescue the trapped victims.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, and Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye both confirmed the incident.

They also mentioned that six persons were trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed building where search and rescue operations have commenced at the site.
