Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called for the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu for equity and fairness in the party ahead of the 2023 general election.

He made the call  at the PDP interactive South West meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP hierarchy in Ibadan.

Governor Makinde said the step became imperative for the party to allow internal democracy and to restore hope for Nigerians that the PDP is ready to develop the country if it wins the next presidential poll.

Governor Makinde, however, believed that the party had the capacity to resolve its crisis reiterating that Integrity and honour must be the watchword of the party in all areas.

“We are supposed to give hope to our people, we want them to listen to us.
Our party wants to rescue Nigeria and our candidate is a unifier. He wants to restructure Nigeria.
