A 28-year-old man, Ismail Adewuyi is cooling his feet in police custody in Osun State for daring to disrupt the peace of the dead.
Adewuyi, a herbalist, was alleged to have decapitated a fresh corpse at Muslim Cemetery, Oke Yidi, in Ede, Osun State, severing the head and intestines of the woman.
The suspect was said to have invaded the cemetery in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, where he exhumed the corpse before cutting off the head and removing the intestines.
However, nemesis caught up with him when he was accosted by a member of the Nigerian Hunters Association, NHA, in the state.
While being interrogated, Adewuyi who had charms on him confessed that he was a herbalist.
The suspect was subsequently handed to the police.
Police Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police, Osun State Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said the command had commenced an investigation on the case.
