Ogun State House of Assembly wants the nominee for the post of the State Auditor General, Mr. Akorede Balogun, to evolve strategies towards sustaining accountability and transparency in the financial records of government agencies.  

The Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, gave the charge during the screening exercise, at the Assembly Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mr Oluomo implored the nominee to further entrench financial discipline if confirmed for the appointment.

Responding, Mr. Balogun assured the lawmakers that if appointed, he would ensure a periodic auditing processes for all public establishments to create value for government scarce resources.

Mr Balogun who hails from of Odeda Local Government area of the state is a graduate of Banking and Finance from the Olabisi Onabanjo University and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). 

He joined the State Civil Service in October 2002 and rose to become the Director, Government Accounts, until his nomination a week ago.
