Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three brothers and one other for allegedly carrying out various robbery operations in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, said The suspects, Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo and Tosin Ogundeko, were arrested following a distress call received at Igbeba divisional headquarters.

According to him, the armed robbers invaded the shop of a lotto agent in the Odi-Olowo area of Ijebu-Ode and robbed the agent of the sum of ninety thousand naira and also snatched a bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.

The police spokesperson explained that the Igbeba Divisional Police Officer, Mr Musiliu Doga, had led his patrol team to the scene of the robbery and succeeded in arresting one of the suspects, Tosin Ogundeko.

He disclosed that the arrested suspect subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State where the remaining three were apprehended, while one of them simply identified as Tosin a.k.a Socket escaped.

The PPRO stated that the suspects confessed to being responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in Ijebu-Ode and its environs and that they were all based in Epe but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation.

According to Mr Oyeyemi, one cut-to-size locally-made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.

He, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation while directing a massive manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.
