Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji says he has handed over the state to God for direction and guidance.

Gov Oyebanji stated this during a brief prayer session attended by his wife, Dr Olayemi, some family members and officials including the Head of Service, Mr Bamidele Agbede held at the Government House Chapel, Ado-Ekiti. 

The Governor said he decided to kick start his first day at work with a prayer session to commit the entire assignment to God’s able hand, saying that he has no power of his own.

Governor Oyebanji, after the 30 minutes service, walked from the Chapel to his office where he had his first meeting with members of the Ekiti State caucus of the National Assembly.

He also held meetings with the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, principal officers of the State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Mr Funminiyi Afuye; as well as the Head of Service and some top government officials.

Also, it was a moment of joy and jubilation as the new Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Monisade Afuye assumed duty on Monday after her inauguration.

The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by family members, religious leaders and APC members dressed in white attire.

Prayers were offered to usher in the deputy governor to her office.

Addressing the well-wishers, Mrs Afuye appreciated them for their support.

She said that a meeting would be held with members of staff of her office tomorrow (Tuesday) for a robust relationship.

The deputy governor had earlier paid homage to Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu.
