Federal Government has trained 500 youths in Oyo State on Mobile phone repair, software and hardware development through the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB.

The trainees were presented with certificates of participation and starter packs at a graduation ceremony held in Ibadan.

Addressing the trainees, Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Mr Simbi Wabote, who spoke virtually through the Board’s General Manager, Research, Statistics and Development, Mr Abdulmalik Halilu, said the board had so far trained over 4,000 youths across six states.

Mr Wabote called on the trainees to take full advantage of the training to become self-reliant.

In a remark, the All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, who facilitated the training to the state, also urged the trainees to use the skills acquired to contribute to the economic growth of the state.

Senator Folarin, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content, reaffirmed his commitment to quality education and manpower development, which he said was the reason he was seeking for the votes of the people in the 2023 General Elections.

Some of the trainees, who demonstrated the skills they had acquired at the occasion, told newsmen that they had benefitted immensely in the last four weeks.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the trainees were also given 130,000 naira each as stipends.
