The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Mr Idris Jere has said that the service will put necessary measures towards improving surveillance at the nation’s borders ahead of the forthcoming general election.

Mr Jere stated this at Oke Mosan Abeokuta when he paid a courtesy visit to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

While assuring that the Nigeria Immigration Service would guard the Nation’s borders properly before, during and after the general election.

The Comptroller General called on Ogun State Government to assist the service with logistics support.

While describing Governor Dapo Abiodun as a security-conscious administrator, Mr Jere commended the Governor for his support to the Nigeria Immigration Service in the state.

Responding, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun called for more presence of the Federal Government in the oil-rich Tongeji Island in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Abiodun also said that his administration would continue to support the efforts and initiatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service in the state.
