Ahead of the February 25 General election, the Joint Security Task Force, JSTF, in Oyo State has assured residents of the state of a violence-free electoral exercise. 

The General Officer Commanding, 2 Division Mechanised Nigerian Army, Odogbo, Ibadan, Major General Mohammed Usman gave the assurance at a joint security show of force exercise in Ibadan.  

The General Officer Commanding 2 Division, who was represented by Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko told mischief makers to rethink as security agents would clamp down on them.

Also addressing journalist, the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Security, Fatai Owoseni, who urged residents in the state to follow laid down rules as regards the election, stressed the need for people to desist from spreading information aimed at causing panic.  

The show of force by the Joint Security Task Force was to assure residents in the state of their safety before, during and after the Elections in 2023.
