The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Delta State Command says it has deployed two thousand nine hundred and seventy-nine personnel across the state for the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer Anthony Uchenna in Asaba, the state capital.
The information notes that the State Commandant of the NSCDC Iskilu Akinsanya has ordered the surveillance of flashpoints across the state in readiness for the election.
It notes the personnel were drawn from the Armed Squad Unit, Agro Rangers, Crisis and Disaster Management, Tactical teams and Component commands to synergize with other security agencies to achieve peaceful, free, fair and credible general elections.
The statement assures stakeholders such as personnel of INEC, NYSC and accredited national and international observers of their safety, while encouraging Deltans to go about activities without fear or intimidation.
