Sorting and counting of ballot papers ongoing in most of the polling units visited in the five local governments areas of Oke Ogun. Radio Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation in Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Atisbo, Saki west and Saki East reports that most of the voters waited for results while others went to their homes.

The situation was however different at ward 9 unit 8 in Iseyin local government area, where Bimodal Voter Accreditation System did not come up thereby delaying early commencement of voting.

Reacting to the development after casting his vote in the affected the unit, a member of the House of Representative, Mr Shina Peller decried lack of adequate security and the hitches developed by the BVAS.

He however commended the peaceful conduct of the election and appealed to the voters to be peaceful and calm.

Similarly, SDP candidate for saki west, saki east and Atisbo federal constituency, Mr. Lawal Baishiru and his co-contestants from Accord, Mr Babatunde Atilola and APC, Mr Kareem Abisodun agreed that the election was peaceful.

The candidates said the turnout was impressive and equally low in some wards and units.

While expressing optimism on the outcome of the election, the contestants said the use of BVAS was an improvement by INEC over the past elections in the country.

Meanwhile activities were yet to commence at the INEC collation centre for the zone in Iseyin. The electoral officer in Iseyin, Mr Adenrele Oyewale said election results collated from 13 local government are being expected tonight in Iseyin.
