By Funmi Adekoya

Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has called on residents of the state to remain peaceful and avoid political violence in the countdown to the March 11th House of Assembly election.

Addressing stakeholders and leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, at his residence, Governor Adeleke commended the support for the party in last Saturday’s election, urging all political parties to continue to maintain the peace as democracy is about making choices at the polls.

In a statement by Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor specifically warned against incitement, political violence and any other conduct that may breach the peace the state is currently enjoying.

Commenting on last Saturday’s election, Governor Adeleke said there is no winner, no vanquished, calling on voters to prepare again to perform their civic responsibility come March 11.

He noted that Osun people and Nigerians have voted and have made their choices, and leaders have emerged, advising the winners to serve the best interest of the voting public.
