House of Representatives elect representing Yewa South/ Ipokia Federal Constituency, Mr Isiaq Akinlade has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the bill to change the name of the area referred to as Egbado to Yewa into law.

Mr Akinlade who stated this while speaking with Radio Nigeria after exercising his franchise at Ahamadiya ward 2 in Owode Yewa, Yewa South local government, described the signing of the bill into law as a hallmark and a good signal for the residents of the area.

Mr Akinlade who also applauded the president for his efforts to grant local government autonomy said the step would enhance development especially, at the grassroots level.

He expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of voters during the gubernatorial and State Houses Assembly elections in the area.

Also, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye who performed his civic duty at 9:50 am at the State hospital, Ilaro ward 1 commended INEC for addressing the challenges recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly.

An Observer, Mrs Abiodun Oyedele who commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise said the turnout of voters was impressive.
