Kano state government has lifted the dawn-to-dusk curfew imposed in the state.

The government had earlier imposed a curfew to avoid a breakdown of law and order following tensions generated from the announcement of the results of the governorship and state Assembly elections.

In a statement, Kano State Commissioner for information and internal affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, said the decision to lift the curfew followed a deliberate and careful review of the situation as well as the relative calm observed throughout the state.

Malam Garba called on commercial banks, public servants and the people in the state to come out and resume their normal businesses.
