It was a moment of joy and gratitude to God at the Agodi Baptist Church Ibadan as Mothers dressed gorgeously in white and purple wears celebrated this year’s Mother’s Day.

In a Message entitled “Mother as a Gold “, President, Women Missionary Union of Agodi Baptist Church, Ibadan, Mrs Ruth Ogunsola, said the day was meant to appreciate the numerous roles mothers play in their homes and society for nation building.

Mrs Ogunsola advised mothers to be role model to their children by exhibiting the fear of God, and being submissive to their husbands.

In a goodwill message, President, Men Missionary Union of the church, Deacon Ayo Dúródola, who said the role of Mother’s in the society could not be over ẹmphasized, prayed that mothers would eat the fruit of their labour.

Similarly, a Clergy, Reverend Ademola Mabawonku, while appreciating mothers for their efforts in combining service to God with home keeping, admonished them not to relent in the moral upbringing of their children.

Highlights of the event were special prayers, presentation of songs, drama, gifts, and the proclamation of Mrs Deborah Ayodele Alao as Mother of the Day 2023 in recognition of her selfless service to humanity.
