There was palpable tension in the Aaje area of Ogbomoso on Wednesday as some boys suspected to be members of a gang known as “Wahala n Paniyan” attacked the area, injuring an unidentified man and destroying valuables such as cars, houses and shops.

Radio Nigeria confirmed that the boys stormed the town at about 1:45am with cutlasses and dangerous weapons vandalising valuable properties.

Confirming the incident to Radio Nigeria, the Aaje of Aaje, Oba Sunday Ademola said the irate boys had previously attacked the area some weeks ago, adding that the demands of the boys are unknown. 

“We don’t know what they really wanted ” the Oba said.”

Oba Sunday said the “Wahala n payan boys” also attacked Oje Ladanu, Oja Oba and Onpetu palace.

The monarch called on Oyo state government to come to the rescue of residents in the area to forestall future attack.
