Nigeria Police Ogun State Command have arrested ten students of Isanbi Comprehensive High School, Ilisan-Remo for allegedly beating up one of their teachers.
The alleged victim, identified as Kolawole Shonuga, had prevented one of the students from cheating during an examination for the Senior Secondary School students of the school’s Ss1 Art class.
Shonuga was said to have caught the erring student and seized his papers.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Omotola Odutola confirmed the arrest of the students in Abeokuta after the victim had reported the incident at Remo Police Division.
Mrs Odutola said the student and some of his friends had allegedly waylaid their teacher after school hours at the school gate and attacked him physically.
Reacting to the incident, the state’s Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, Mr Felix Agbesanwa, who condemned the behaviour of the students, said students found assaulting their teachers should be made to face the law.
