The Ogun Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, has adjourned sitting till fourth of September following the parties closing of their cases in the petition filed by Chief Ladi Adebutu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the eighteenth of March governorship election in the state.
Chief Adebutu had approached the tribunal to alleging that Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress did not win the majority of votes cast in the eighteenth of March election.
The petitioner also accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of non-compliance to the Electoral Act and corrupt practices during the election among others.
The petitioners had closed its case after calling 94 witnesses and tendering over 200,000 documents in evidence.
INEC, being the first respondent, also opened and closed its case without calling any witnesses.
Justice Hamidu Kunaza announced the adjournment of the proceeding till fourth of September for the adoption of the final written addresses by all parties.
