Ogun State Government has received the first delivery of 3,000 bags of rice from the Federal Government in fulfillment of its plan to distribute grains to mitigate the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

The Secretary to the state government Mr Olatokunbo Talabi who made this known while speaking with newsmen at Okemosan Abeokuta, also said that the state government had  received money from the federal government for the procurement of grains that would be distributed to the residents.

While explaining that the rebagging of the grains and repackaging of the commodities were already ongoing, Mr Talabi pointed out that the state government would procure more grains to complement Federal government’s efforts. 

He said Special considerations would be given to the elders, physically challenged persons and pregnant women in the distribution of the commodities.

Mr Talabi also said that the state government had set up a committee that would coordinate distribution of the palliatives to the residents of the state.
