The Federal Government should go beyond palliative distribution to masses and urgently initiate other economic policy that would cushion the current economic challenges in the country.

Minister in charge of the Gospel Faith Mission International, GOFAMINT, Agbowo Assembly, Pastor Daniel Jimoh, gave the admonition while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Ibadan.

The Cleric who explained that the palliative initiative cannot be condemned if the overall motive of the subsidy removal is achieved on the long run noted that the economic effects of the subsidy removal has become more unbearable.

Pastor Jimoh who said proper monitoring of the palliative implementation should be guaranteed, however, said alternative economic relief strategy such as inflation and commodities price control should be considered.

While encouraging government to ensure the nation’s refineries were urgently repaired so as to end the idea of importing fuel into the country, the GOFAMINT pastor appealed government to address pending issues with labour to avert looming industrial action.
