In celebration of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child which is marked globally every 11th October, Oyo State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Olukemi Afolayan has tasked adolescent Girls to unite with advocates for their rights.

Dr Afolayan who stated this while hosting the executive members of the women’s group on a courtesy visit emphasised that a right for the girl child is a universal right and should not be obeyed in a breach.

The NOA State Director said it was high time Nigeria closed gender gaps and advanced gender equality with social inclusion which will allow the girl child to rule the world

“Advocating for the girl child a future devoid of gender discrimination, political segregation, gender-based violence, discriminatory teaching modules, cultural  impediment and other factors causing setbacks to   female gender is what  we need to build a save society”

Goal 5 of the SDG ‘s views Gender equality as not only a Girl child fundamental right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world, hence, we should create a level playing ground for girls to thrive

In her response, the Coordinator of the group, Mrs Temitope Braimah-Adegbola appreciated NOA for always playing a leading role in advancing Girls’ and Women’s right.
