Ogun CP Takes Deterrent Action against Officers for Alleged Extortion

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Alamutu Abiodun has activated appropriate disciplinary measures against Inspector Ikhanorba Lucky, Inspector Paul Sunday, and Inspector Edwin Ekeogu, who were involved in an incident of professional misconduct to ensure that they are held accountable for their misconduct and serve as a deterrent to others.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Omolola Odutola, the commissioner stated this while reacting to the action of the three policemen subsequently shared on social media after they were caught on camera flagrantly extorting money from commercial motorcyclists at Maawu Bus stop in Agbado area of the state.

The Commissioner, who condemned the unprofessional act of the men, emphasised Police high hierarchy’s commitment to upholding professional standards within the force to sustain quality service delivery to the citizens and ensure public trust and confidence in Nigeria Police Force.
