DSS, NOA Strengthen Partnership to Combat Crime in Oyo

In a path towards creating a well-ordered society devoid of criminality, domestic threats, drug abuse and other social abuse militating against the peace and progress of the country, NOA and the State Security Services, DSS, have renewed their partnership for excellent performance.

In a release by the Media unit of the National Orientation Agency, both agencies resolved to mitigate crime in the state during the courtesy visit by the NOA Director and the Management, to the office of the DSS. 

While introducing the track team of the Agency, a deputy director in the command, Stephen A Oyinlola who’s described the visit as timely and a needed pathway to meaningful policy strategy between the eggheads. 

Oyo State Director of NOA, Dr Olukemi Afolayan described the visit as a homecoming to better partnership while eulogizing the DSS for their meritable role in mitigating crime in the state.

The state Director stressed the need for partnership to nip crimes in the bud using a grassroots sensitization approach, Since both agencies are community-based, their collaboration will produce an informal exchange that will curb crimes in the state. 

Dr Afolayan reiterated that the target of the Agency was to imbibe National Core Values by all citizens starting from the youth age cohorts. The task has led to the introduction of Integrity clubs in both  67 secondary schools and  Universities in the state to inform young ones on the ideals of growing up to be virtuous Nigerians.  

The NOA state Director berated the escalating drug abuse among youths, however, seek the collaboration of all to find a lasting solution to it. 

In his own response, Oyo State Director of Security Service, John Macchim (Fsi), emphasized that DSS enjoyed a good relationship with NOA, especially at the grassroots level where they are both present and pledged to further support their sensitization drive to make maximum impact. 

John Macchim also promised to work harmoniously with the Agency to end ravaging drug abuse in the state.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the National Flag by the NOA team to their host Director, which symbolizes the patriotic roles both agencies are playing in nation-building.
