Ogun state government has restated its determination to continue to initiate programmes and policies, especially in the area of land that will attract more investments and make the state an investor hub for Nigeria.

Governor Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance in Abeokuta during the distribution of Certificates of Occupancy to five thousand beneficiaries under the Ogun State Land Administration and Revenue Management System.

Governor Abiodun who was represented by the Secretary to State government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi said the present administration had embarked on various steps to ensure that the process of land business in Ogun state was transformed.

He said the government was working hard to conclude the distribution of the outstanding certificates of occupancy before the first quarters of 2024.

In separate remarks, Commissioner for Physical Planning, Mr Tunji Odulami and his Housing ministry counterpart, Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi, said the distribution of CofO to 5,000 people was an indication that the present administration was taking the bull by the horns to address the delay in the distribution of the documents.

Earlier, the Director General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Otunba Segun Fowora, noted that the introduction of the Ogun State Land Administration and Revenue Management System by the present administration was to speed the process of land administration and make it seamless, maintaining that the Bureau of Lands would continue to implement the governor’s vision on land matters.

One of the recipients and former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayilara Adedoyin, lauded the state government for the initiative, noting that it would help legitimize their properties and give them peace of mind.
