Traders Count Losses as Inferno Razes Oyo Market

Night fire razes a popular market in Oyo town, traders start counting their losses.

A section of the Ajegunle market located along Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo town has been gutted by fire, resulting in the loss of foodstuffs and other items whose value could not be immediately estimated.

A vast part of the gari processing area of the market was mainly affected, suggesting that the inferno might have started from a frying cubicle not properly extinguished at the close of production last night.

The Federal Fire Service Station in the town confirmed the unfortunate incident which according to them was curtailed from spreading through their prompt response.
