Two traditional rulers in Ekiti State have been killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday

It was gathered that the two traditional rulers, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin and the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola were ambushed and shot dead by gunmen along Oke-Ako road, in Ikole Local Government Area of the state while returning from a meeting.

It was also learnt that the Alara of Ara Ikole, Oba Fatoba who was travelling alongside them escaped from the scene when the armed men accosted them and attempted to forcefully take them away.

The Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Mr. Michael Ogungbemi confirmed the killing of the two traditional rulers.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Mr Sunday Abutu promised to get back to our reporter on the killing.
