As the Federal Government has taken steps to consider the implementation of the Steve Oransanye report by merging some agencies and departments, workers at the Federal level have been assured of the security of their jobs.

The President, the National Forum of Heads of Federal Establishment, Agencies and Departments, NAFOHEADS, Oyo State chapter, Dr Stephen Adewuni gave the assurance in an interview with Radio Nigeria after the monthly conference of the association held at the Federal Secretariat, Ikolaba, Ibadan.

Dr Adewuni, who said that the step taken was meant to reduce the cost of governance, explained that the merging of agencies and departments would not translate to job loss for federal workers as anticipated by some individuals.

While encouraging Federal workers to consider investing in agriculture as the farming season commences, Dr Adewuni noted that the era of total reliance on salary for survival had gone as prices of food commodities continued to rise in the market.

The Oyo state NAFOHEAD president, who enjoined other members to prioritize monthly meetings of the forum, said the association had made numerous resolutions which included a visit to Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, restructuring of the forum executive in line with the forum’s constitution and sensitization of absenting members on the importance of attending the NAFOHEADS meetings, among others
