The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, Dr Michael Adaralewa has reiterated the readiness of the command, to deploy personnel to join the Nigerian Correctional Service Armed Squad to guard custodial centres in Osun State.

Dr Adaralewa gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service in Osun State, Mr Tolu Ogunsakin.

The Osun NSCDC boss who explained that the NSCDC is saddled with the responsibility of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure assured that the command will support the Nigerian Correctional Service to check incidences of jailbreak across the nation.

‘’NSCDC is saddled with the responsibility of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure and assure you that the command is ready to support Nigeria Correctional service to checkmate Jailbreak in the country’’, Dr Adaralewa said.

He also stated further that the two agencies under the same ministry should complement each other to achieve the same goal of protecting lives and property while soliciting unwavering support to end security challenges facing the country.

In his response, the Controller of Corrections in Osun State, Mr Tolu Ogunsakin appreciated the new NSCDC Commandant for the visit, emphasizing that both agencies are sisters.

Mr. Ogunsakin also expressed his readiness to work closely with the corps to improve the security architecture in the state.
