Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has distributed forty trailers of maize to poultry, fish, and piggery farmers.
The governor gave out the items the launch of distribution of food commodities to farmers at the Agric warehouse Oke-Eda Akure.
Speaking at the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa appealed for fair pricing regime among farmers and traders and not exploit consumers.
Staff reporter Isaac Afolabi report that the distribution program is intended to force down the prices of eggs, chicken and other related produce in the market.
According to the governor , subsequent distribution of more food commodities will be rolled out.
Earlier in a welcome address, chairman, committee on agriculture and food security , Mr Rotimi Akinsola expressed gratitude to the governor for establishing the committee, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
Highlights of the event included decoration of the governor as grand patron by the ondo state agricultural commodities association.
