The Hausa community in Ibadan the Oyo State capital joined other Muslim faithful in the world to celebrate Eid el Fitri marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

At Agodi Government Arcade where the prayer was held today, the Chief Imam of Ibadan Hausa Community, Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad led the worshippers in the two raqat prayers

Addressing newsmen after the prayer, Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad said Muslims should imbibe the fear of Allah, which he said was the basis for the Ramadan fast.

 The cleric explained that the absence of the fear of God had led to myriads of socio-economic problems confronting the nation

Speaking in the same vein, the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadan land, Alhaji Alid Zungeru, who said Nigeria was too complex to govern, lamented the get-rich-quick syndrome among the people, saying it has led to needless bloodshed in the country.

 In an interview, the Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Abiodun Fadeyi said comfort was currently returning to the country and urged all and sundry to intensify their prayers for the nation.

 Mr Fadeyi admonished Muslims in the country to continue to imbibe the lessons learnt during the Ramadan fast with the demonstration of peace and love for one another

High point the event was a special prayer for a member of the Hausa community who died during the prayer.
