Police Command in Ogun State says it has recovered the sum of Seven million, nine hundred thousand naira, and one thousand five hundred rupees from suspected kidnappers.

The command also said that three Indian Nationals were rescued unhurt from the hands of suspected kidnappers.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Alamutu made this known while speaking with newsmen at the Eleweran headquarters of the command.

Mr Alamutu explained that the suspected kidnappers, numbering about six had allegedly opened fire on two buses conveying workers of a private company to their residence, at Kajola junction.

He said the police escort attached to the first bus with Registration No FST 686 YH exchanged fire with the kidnappers and managed to escape with all the occupants in the first vehicle, while three Indian Nationals, inside the second bus without police escort were kidnapped to an unknown destination.

The Police Commissioner said the three victims were rescued unhurt after the Anti-kidnapping Section of the Command with the support of other local security agents engaged the suspected kidnappers in Ogun battle where two out of the six kidnappers were demobilized.

He said two AK 47 riffles, one single barrel locally made gun, one sword, cell phone, criminal charms, and 65 rounds of ammunition were also recovered.
