Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State says his administration place high premium on security of lives & property in the state.
Governor Adeleke stated this while receiving the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abiodun Alabi at the Banquet hall, government House, Oke-fia, Osogbo.
The Governor maintained that the state government provided strong logistics support for police to strengthen their capacity in ensuring safety of the people in the state.
While assuring the continued support of government for security agencies, Governor Adeleke warned that he would not tolerate security officers taking illegal action to undermine the peace in the state.
Earlier, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Abiodun Alabi had explained the he was in Osun State in continuation of his tour to zonal areas in the country to interface with stakeholders.
While describing Osun State as one of the peaceful state in Nigeria, the DIG commended Governor Adeleke for his support in terms of logistics for the police as well as the harmonious relationship between the government and law enforcement officers.
He noted that before meeting with other stakeholders, his first point of call is to visit the Chief Security Officer of the state, who is the Governor.
DIG Alabi pointed out that Community Policing cannot be achieved without the collaboration of community leaders, just as every stakeholders must be involved to ensure security of their community.
He called for the continued support of state government for the police for them to perform their duties optimally.
In the entourage of the DIG is the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Umar Abba, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance, and other officers.
