Tributes as Oluyemisi Oloko-Faniran is Laid to Rest

The saying sweet is the memory of the righteous came to manifestation as family, friends, alumni and professional body testified to the impactful life late Eyitayo Oluyemisi Oloko-Faniran lived while on earth.

The event held at Iwo Road Baptist Church, Iwo Road, saw representatives of families, the 1977 set of students from Ejigbo High School, All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ola Ladies of Honour, among others all in Osun State giving tribute to late Oluyemisi Oloko-Faniran.

 In an exhortation titled: “Blessed in Death”, the minister in charge of Winners Baptist Church, Ibadan, Reverend Samson Adetunji challenged the congregation to examine their lifestyle.

Reverend Adetunji quoting Romans 8:1 said impacting the life of others, like the late Oluyemisi did, is an attribute of a blessed life, pointing out that salvation by grace through Jesus Christ is the route to such a life.

The cleric, who said eternal rewards awaited believers whose lifestyle is a blessing to others, urged the congregation to eschew living a sinful life as death is inevitable.

Omojolaebi Omotoso, the only surviving son of the deceased described her as a loving, caring and supportive mother.

The nephew to the late Mama Oloko-Faniran, Mr Adewumi Faniran, a Deputy Director News and Current Affairs Department of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, described the late Mrs Oloko-Faniran as an accommodating and benevolent woman.

The event featured readings from the Bible, special prayers for the family of the deceased choral rendition from the church choir.

Late Oluyemisi Oloko-Faniran was later laid to rest at her residence located at Onilu -Amuro area, Adegbayi, Ibadan.
