The Christmas period has been described as a time to show unconditional love to people.
Wife of the Oyo State governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, stated this at a programme organized for women tagged end-of-the-year party with women in Oyo state.
The governor’s wife, who noted that the times were truly challenging, called on the women to be selfless by sharing and caring for their neighbours who may not be able to enjoy the period due to financial constraints.
Mrs Makinde submitted that showing love and compassion to others would make people happy and give them sense of belonging.

In an interview at the programme, the wife of Egbeda Local Government chairman, Mrs Monsurat Sanda, tasked women with celebrating with utmost moderation so that they could meet other urgent and more important needs.
Mrs Sanda advised the women to live by their means and budget.
Two beneficiaries, Mrs Seyifunmi Adesope and Mrs Olubunmi Oyelade, chairperson of the National Council of Women Society, described the gifts as timely given the economic challenges confronting Nigerians.

Participants in the programme were given rice, vegetable oil and cash gifts.
