Bishop Stabbed To Death Settling Domestic Dispute

By Mojisola Oladele

The founder of Rapture Empowerment International, Osogbo, Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, died after being stabbed while attempting to resolve a domestic dispute between an estranged couple.

The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

She stated that preliminary investigations revealed the husband stabbed the bishop out of suspicion that he was having an affair with his wife.

Mrs. Opalola added that the couple, who had been living apart without legal separation, had been receiving mediation from Bishop Olaribigbe for some time.

The police apprehended both the husband and the wife, who worked as an interpreter in the bishop’s church and detained them at the Dugbe Police Division in Osogbo.

Eyewitnesses reported that the husband grew enraged after finding the bishop in the house and suspecting an inappropriate relationship between him and his wife.

The situation escalated into a heated argument, during which the husband allegedly stabbed the cleric multiple times in the chest, killing him instantly.

Reports add that the incident occurred near the BCGA area of Osogbo, close to the late bishop’s church.
