US law enforcement continues to investigate the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, which left seven people with minor injuries and raised significant unanswered questions.
Authorities identified the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle as 37-year-old Matthew Alan Livelsberger, an active-duty US Special Forces soldier.

Police discovered his body in the charred vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, alongside fuel canisters and firework mortars in the truck bed.
Livelsberger rented the Tesla in Denver on December 28 and drove over 800 miles to Las Vegas, arriving just hours before the explosion on Wednesday morning.

Using Tesla’s charging data and photos taken along the way, investigators confirmed he was the only driver.
Las Vegas Sheriff, Kevin McMahill described the incident as a suicide followed by a bombing but acknowledged that Livelsberger’s motives remain unclear.
Investigators are exploring whether the explosion was intended as a political statement, particularly given the location outside a Trump property and the use of a Tesla vehicle.
No evidence has yet linked Livelsberger to political ideologies or motives tied to President-elect Donald Trump or Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
However, authorities are not dismissing potential connections, particularly as Musk recently joined a Trump advisory commission.
The FBI and local law enforcement continue their investigation, emphasizing the unusual circumstances and unanswered questions surrounding the incident.
