By Bolanle Adesida

Operatives of the Owode Egba Police Division have arrested two suspects for alleged vandalism and theft of cable wires and iron rods in Ogunmakin, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area Ogun State.

The suspects, Agbo Jeremiah, age 34 and 29-year-old Sunday Ngbuta were arrested around 7 pm on Tuesday.

In a statement made available to Newsmen in Abeokuta, Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Omolola Odutola said the arrest followed a signal from the driver conveying the suspects and the stolen items.

Ms Odutola explained that police officers on duty received the signal and flagged down the vehicle to search it, which led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items.

She said that earlier in the day, operatives from Safer Highway had reported that while they were close to Macpherson University, they came across two individuals carrying rolls of cable wires and iron rods.

Ms Odutola noted that when questioned, the suspects could not provide satisfying answers about how they obtained the items.

She added that they were currently being interrogated and further investigation is ongoing.
