The trial of seven suspected Oodua nation agitators who invaded Radio Nigeria Amuludun FM in May 2023 has begun at the Oyo State High Court, Ringroad, Ibadan.
The seven defendants, Noah Atoyebi, Adeleke Gbenga, Abdulganiyu Mustapha, Bashiru kehinde, Ifagbola Elijah, Oladapo Ajani and Rasheed Jimoh are facing three counts of conspiracy and armed robbery.
During the proceeding, the prosecuting counsel ,Ganiyu Ramoni called the first witness, Inspector Lasisi Audu to testify.
However, the defence counsel, O A Adeleke objected to the witness testifying noting that his name was not on the witness list.
The prosecuting counsel, Ganiyu Ramoni, pleaded for more time to make a proper adjustment and submission of the witness name.
Justice Rachael Akintola agreed with the objection of the defence counsel and adjourned for the case to 22nd April 2025.
The seven suspected Oodua nation agitators allegedly hijacked Radio Nigeria Amuludun FM in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in the early hours of May 28, 2023 with loads of charms, while a sponsored programme was being aired.
They were alleged to have stopped the programme and started making their own broadcast for about an hour before the arrival of security agents who arrested them and restored normalcy.
