It was a moment of testimonies and commendations for the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Ayodele Sonubi as he retired from active service after thirty-three years.
The colourful event held at the parade ground of the Oyo State police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, had in attendance dignitaries, colleagues, security agencies, family and friends of the commissioner of police.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, represented by Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Adegoke Fayoade, commended the investigative prowess and selfless service of the outgoing Commissioner of Police.
Congratulating the CP, Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by the Special Adviser on Security, Fatai Owoseeni, praised his dedication and leadership style.
The governor, who had few days ago, presented the CP with a brand new Jeep, promised a continuous relationship with Mr Sonubi on security matters.
Responding, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi, appreciated God, his family, especially his wife, Monisola and colleagues for the opportunity to serve humanity.
Sonubi, popularly called Ayo sport, being the chairman of the Police Tennis Club is an indigene of Ogun State, who joined the Nigerian Police Force on 18th May 1992.
He would be sixty years old on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
