Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 52 Year-old man, Harry Collins, for allegedly impersonating a police officer.
The suspect was apprehended during a reconnaissance patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, at Mangoro area of the state.
According to the state police spokesperson, Ms Omolola Odutola, Officers on duty became suspicious of his presence, dressed in a full police uniform with a sergeant rank at the Long Bridge and was arrested.
She disclosed that upon interrogation at the station, Collins was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his impersonation, which further raised suspicion about his activities.
Ms Odutola added that Investigations were ongoing to determine his motives and would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
The Command therefore cautioned the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as police officers to appropriate quarters for action.
