Police Launch Manhunt for Attackers of Ogun Community

The Ogun State Police Command has  condemned a brutal attack on Osuke village, Ota, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Ogunlowo made this known in a statement through the Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Omolola Odutola.

“On February 27, 2025, at about 2:20 pm, one resident of Iju mosque compound, Osuke Ota, Mr Olusoji Jìnádù lodged a complaint that a group of armed hoodlums, led by an individual identified as Elijah, stormed the Muslim Prayer Ground in Osuke Ota on a motorcycle and opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic and endangering the lives of innocent citizens.

The statement added that the complainant’s 24-year-old son, Saheed Jinadu Shoboyede, was struck by a bullet and  was rushed to the State General Hospital, Ota, where a doctor on duty pronounced him dead. 

He urged anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station while a full-scale investigation has been launched to apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.
