The Chief Imam of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Alhaji Tajudeen Hamzat has emphasized the need for better collaboration among security agencies to curb insecurity across the country.
Alhaji Hamzat made the call while delivering a lecture at the 8th Ramadan lecture of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, held at its headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan.
The Islamic cleric noted that such collaboration would give room for prompt response as well as reduce any duplication of efforts among security agencies.
Speaking on the theme, “Brotherhood and Social Justice”, Alhaji Hamzat urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers irrespective of their religious beliefs.
In a remark, the Oyo State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Augustine Pandonu called on Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan and Lenten periods in all their actions.
In a goodwill message the Chairman, Muslim Community of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan, Mr Babatunde Salaudeen who was represented by the forum’s secretary, Mr Sherifdeen Nashirdeen advised the attendees to make use of the knowledge gained from the lecture for the betterment of the nation.
Welcoming the guests, Chairman, organizing committee of the lecture, Mr Quozim Omonigbehin pointed out that the lecture was organized to remind everyone of their duties to people around them.
