Traditional rulers and community leaders play a vital role in shaping societal norms and values.
Therefore, it is imperative for them to collaborate with government initiatives to drive meaningful development and governance.
The wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, stated this in Ibadan during a meeting with royal fathers.
She urged them to leverage on their influence to enlighten their subjects on the dangers of harmful practices, particularly female genital mutilation (FGM), and encourage positive change in their communities.
Senator also told the Royal fathers to educate their communities on the advantages of immunization to prevent deadly diseases.
Senator Tinubu who is also the National Chairman of The Renewed Hope Initiative, said there would be lots of empowerment programmes this year for the vulnerable, People living with Disabilities, Female folks, Elderly and youths.
In his address of welcome, governor Seyi Makinde, expressed optimism that the meeting with the traditional rulers would yield a positive outcome due to the closeness of the monarchs to the people at the grassroots

The event also witnessed distribution of food items to some vulnerable groups in Oyo state which was performed by the wife of the vice president, Hajia Nana Shetima on behalf of Senator Tinubu.

Hajia Shetima noted that 10 states of the federation had benefitted from the RHI initiative.
The Royal fathers which included the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Olakuleyin Owolabi, represented by Oba Abiodun Kola Daisi,
Alaafin of Oyo,Oba Abimbola Owoade, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Olaoye Ghandi In their goodwill messages, commended the First Lady for her dedication and commitment to the nation.
Two beneficiaries of Renewed Hope Initiative, Dr Lanre Sanda and Mrs Omolara Hameed, appreciated the wife of the president for the food items.
Wives of the governors of Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Lagos, Borno, Bayelsa,Taraba, Jigawa,Yobe and a representative of Imo state government,accompanied the wife of the President to the programme.
