By Jeffery Ahonmisi

A building under construction allegedly owned by a popular fast food outlet has collapsed at the Dugbe area of Ibadan.

According to some witnesses who did not want their names mentioned, the building collapsed around nine o’clock in the evening on Sunday.

The witnesses also said the rainstorm of last Sunday night may have caused the building undergoing construction to collapse.

The witnesses said no life was lost as nobody was working on the building site when it collapsed.

In the meantime, the collapsed building, which fell on the Dugbe Mokola road, beside Bovas filling station, had prompted authorities to block the section leading to Mokola.

It was observed that both motorists going and coming from Mokola to Dugbe were directed to use only one section of the road.

Also at the scene of the collapsed building to ensure orderliness were personnel of the Nigeria police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Nigerian Red Cross, Oyo State Traffic Management Authority, OYRTMA

At the time of filing this report, construction workers are vigorously working at the site to pull down the rubble from the collapsed building.
