The Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama says, the corporation is working towards improving the living standard of staff as well as retooling the system.
Dr Bulama who was accompanied by the Zonal Director, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Dominic Mokikan stated this while addressing members of staff of Progress FM in Ado Ekiti.
The Director General who admitted that there were challenges of insufficient funding and obsolete equipment in the corporation noted that efforts were in top gear to address them.
He commended the sense of hard work and dedication of staff of Progress FM, Ado Ekiti which he said had brought development to the station especially the connection to an independent power plant.
Speaking on the significance of the Udiroko festival which brought Dr Bulama to Ekiti state, the DG advised the state government and people of Ekiti to invest and promote the cultural festival for economic benefits.
He thanked the state government for the support extended to the station with a promise that Radio Nigeria would continue to do its best to serve the state better.
Dr Mohammed Bulama also paid a working visit to Radio Nigeria Gold FM in Ilesa.
Dr Bulama, who highlighted several efforts to surmount the challenges facing FRCN said apart from efforts to upgrade equipment, training and re-training of staff, would be ensured to sustain professionalism.

He advocated support and cooperation of staff members with the management just as he assured workers that he would take their welfare seriously.
The DG also urged Gold FM staff to develop themselves, noting that this will prepare them for greater opportunities in future.

Earlier, the Zonal director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal station, Mr Dominic Mokikan had described the Director-General as a father, considering his efforts to re-position the corporation, which he attested had been yielding positive results.
In her vote of thanks, the General Manager of Gold FM, Ilesa, Mrs Olukemi Oni, appreciated the Director-General for the visit, while promising that the staff would continue to work towards achieving the mission and vision of the Corporation.
